Under the theme “Innovation-led, Protection-empowered: Building a New IP Highland in the Greater Bay Area”, the event invited five speakers to share insights on IP innovation and integrated development in the Greater Bay Area.

In his speech, Director Huang Zhongjian stated that the event aimed to discuss ISO 56005, China’s first international IP standard, to establish an effective IP management system and enhance innovation capacity. The Economic Development Bureau of the Cooperation Zone has been supporting technological innovation and IP protection. It affirmed the contributions of Zhuhai MUST Science and Technology Research Institute to Hengqin’s innovation and economic development. It was hoped that more such intellectual exchange activities would be held in Hengqin and the Greater Bay Area to build consensus on innovation and drive the development of Hengqin and Macao.

During the event, Ms. Zhang Fan interpreted the international standard ISO 56005 Innovation Management — Intellectual Property Management Guidelines, explaining its establishment, content and significance. Dr. Lai Kim Hung shared Hong Kong’s innovation management, quality innovation systems, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem at City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Science Park. Associate Professor Yi Zaicheng discussed the resolution of cross-domain standard essential patent disputes, analyzing cases and proposing practical solutions. Mr. Yan Sheng addressed corporate innovation and IP management from the perspective of financing and listing. Mr. Liu Heng introduced the incubation experience of the National Innovation Center for High-Performance Medical Devices, including the world’s first 5T human MRI system.
The roundtable was moderated by Director Li Jin. Ms. Luo Caiyan, Ms. Zhang Fan, Ms. Zhang Qiuyue, Prof. Li Liang of MUST, and other guests held in-depth discussions on ISO 56005 and key IP issues.
